Biography
Ryan Montgomery is the fourth generation of the Montgomery family to practice law at MPBA. Mr. Montgomery's practice focuses on estate planning, estate and trust administration, business transactions and real estate transactions, and includes the following:
- Drafting simple to complex estate planning instruments such as Wills, Revocable Living Trusts, and various forms of Property Agreements, including Prenuptial and Postnuptial Agreements;
- Advising clients on the tax aspects of business and estate planning, including income, estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax issues, and deferred compensation arrangements;
- Handling probate or trust estate administrations, including dispute negotiation;
- Formation of business entities;
- Representation in business transactions, such as asset sales and mergers;
- Drafting and analyzing leases, purchase and sale agreements, tenancy-in-common agreements and other real estate transactional documents.
Ryan is a frequent speaker to client groups on estate planning issues, and was selected as a 2010 “Rising Star” attorney by Washington Law & Politics magazine.
