Montgomery Purdue Blankinship & Austin PLLC combines a friendly and informal working environment with a devotion to maintaining the highest degree of professionalism in serving our clients. We are also fortunate to have an outstanding professional support staff.
We are excited about our dynamic group of associates and are confident they will add to the success we have enjoyed as a firm.
As a full-service business law firm, offering our clients comprehensive representation in virtually all commercial matters, including transactional and litigation support, we seek out persons whom we believe will mesh well with the personalities of the firm’s lawyers, staff and clients. We are generally looking for outgoing, enthusiastic individuals who are interested in a varied business law practice.
Summer Associate Program
MPBA will be accepting and reviewing applications for one or two available positions in the 2017 Summer Associate Program. Each fall, we attend on-campus interviews at the University of Washington and Seattle University.
Entry-level associates can expect to take on meaningful and responsible work, interacting directly with clients, from the day they begin practicing law with our firm. Associates who are interested in litigation can expect to acquire some trial or other courtroom experience very early in their careers here. We have a strong interest in having our associates succeed with the firm. Ideally, each associate we hire will eventually become a member of the firm.
To foster professional development, each associate has a team of three mentors, and we give formal performance reviews at least twice annually. We have an “open door” policy encouraging associates to take advantage of the wealth of experience present in the firm. They can seek feedback, guidance and support from all members of the firm with respect to issues or questions of any nature.
MPBA is very serious about the quality of legal services it provides to its clients. But that doesn’t mean the firm’s culture isn’t one of friendly camaraderie.
We have events throughout the year, such as:
- Summer get-togethers / picnics
- Holiday party
- In-house golf putting tournament
- Birthday celebrations
- Potluck luncheons
We have always believed that a healthy and active life outside of the firm leads to the most energetic, productive people inside the firm. We do not expect our team members to put in exceedingly long hours. For professional support staff, overtime is an infrequent occurrence. When a big project comes up, however, which requires everyone to pitch in above and beyond the usual call of duty, our lawyers and professional support staff are there to do whatever needs to be done. Personal interests among people in our firm vary widely. We have:
- Snow skiers
- Water skiers
- Softball players
- Basketball players
- Weight lifters
- Car collectors
- Tennis players
- Culinary experts
- Wine connoisseurs
- Worldwide travelers
- Wood workers
- Martial arts experts
- Scuba divers
- Symphony lovers
- Foreign language experts
And many other kinds of personal interests. We find this makes for an interesting and lively workplace.
All in all, MPBA provides a quality work environment for its lawyers and support staff, and one which encourages personal as well as professional growth. Our business and transactional lawyers and litigators serve both domestic and international clients, with a continuing commitment to responsiveness and personal service. We practice in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels. Our lawyers are also experienced mediators and arbitrators, utilizing alternative dispute resolution whenever our clients can benefit from it.
